As the part of the inspiring theme CASE – Creating Awareness Through Science Education, the Second-Year M.Sc. Organic Chemistry students presented a spectacular series of chemical wonders to the 10th-grade students of Sacred Hearts Girls High School, Gnanapuram, on 18 November 2025.
The session unfolded like a colourful journey into the world of chemistry, where concepts leapt beyond textbooks and came alive through vibrant demonstrations. Students watched with awe as Elephant Toothpaste foamed into towering clouds, Smoke Magic danced through the air, and the iconic Chemical Traffic Signals shifted colours like a living rainbow.
With the help of a universal pH indicator, the young learners explored the fascinating distinctions between acids, bases, and neutral compounds, witnessing colours bloom from one extreme of the pH scale to the other. They were equally captivated by a simple yet smart chemical fire extinguisher demonstration, showcasing how everyday reactions can be used to ensure safety. Each experiment was thoughtfully curated to spark curiosity, encourage questioning, and help students see chemistry as a subject of wonder rather than fear. The CASE initiative continues to serve as a meaningful bridge between scientific knowledge and youthful imagination—inspiring young minds to chase learning with excitement, confidence, and joy.
