Workshop on Synthesis of Organic Compounds

A one-day workshop on “Synthesis of Organic Compounds” was successfully conducted on 15 December 2025, led by Chinnari Madam. The workshop aimed to strengthen both theoretical understanding and practical skills in organic synthesis among students and young researchers.

The session began with an overview of fundamental concepts in organic synthesis, including reaction mechanisms, selection of reagents, and optimization of reaction conditions. Special emphasis was given to laboratory safety, proper handling of chemicals, and standard operating procedures followed in organic chemistry laboratories.

The highlight of the workshop was the hands-on practical session, where participants actively performed synthesis experiments under expert guidance. The resource person clearly explained each step of the reaction, purification techniques, and methods of characterization. This practical exposure helped participants connect textbook knowledge with real laboratory practices.

The workshop was highly interactive, encouraging participants to ask questions and discuss common challenges faced during organic synthesis.
